Voice Mail System

A voice mail system is part of a business or organizations telecommunications network that function to send, store and retrieve audio messages left in a voice mailbox.

Extensions within a phone system are linked either to individual voice mail boxes or to group voice mailboxes.

For any inbound phone calls to an extension which is not answered or busy, the caller is given a previously recorded message that contains additional instructions on how to reach the intended caller or the ability to leave a voice message.
