VoIP Services Revenue Grows to $63 Billion in 2012

VoIP services, which increased by 9% in 2012, reached a staggering $63 billion in global revenues.

"The global VoIP services market is no longer in its early adopter stage", says Diane Myers, Infonetics head analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS.

The segment of VoIP business services that achieved the highest growth rate in 2012 was hosted VoIP and Unified Communication services.

Revenues attributed to VoIP business services rose by 17%, demonstrating increasing demand for cloud-based services.

Infonetics estimates that SIP trunks to have grown by 83% compared to 2011. This is explained by the adoption of SIP trunking at multi-site businesses for cutting costs and promoting flexibility purposes.
