Hosted PBX Most Common SMB VoIP Service

“Following on current trends in VoIP services, it was our expectation that SIP trunking – an easier service to deploy – would be the most prevalent,” said Micah Singer, VoIP Logic CEO and co-author of the report.

The study found Hosted PBX to be the most common service offering for small to medium-sized businesses among all of the VoIP service providers, with 74% supplying the service. Basic Internet service followed at 43% percent with SIP trunking and residential VoIP making up 30% and 22%.

The overwhelming target for VoIP services at 89% was small to medium-sized business, with residential VoIP service making up the balance.

Cisco and Polycom equipment and hardware are offered by more than 55 percent of VoIP service providers while softphones are only offered by 2% percent of VoIP service providers as the primary option for service.
